Alena is the co-founder of Aquatots swim school and has been teaching since 1998. She specialises in babies and toddlers and has developed an aquatic development program for infants from 6 weeks of age called Aqua Bubbas. She has presented the Aqua Bubbas.
Alena has been with Aqautots from the beginning and previously taught at the AIS. She teaches all levels from infants through to squad level swimmers. She loves seeing the children who start in her infant classes progress throguh to squad level swimmers.
Her qualifications include:SAT teacher of swimming and water safety, SAT teacher of infant and toddlers, SAT teacher of adults and adolesence, SAT competitive strokes, AUSTSWIM teacher of babies and toddlers, AUSTSWIM teacher of swimmign and water safety, SAT course presenter for teacher of swimming and water safety and infant and toddlers, Cert 3 in Fitness, Aqua instructor, Cert 4 in pool and plant room operations, Cert 4 in training and assessing, Assessor for AUSTSWIM teacher of swimmign and water safety

Daniel has been teaching since 1998 and he teaches everything from babies to squad level swimming. He specialises in stroke development in preparation for competitive racing and challenging children
Daniel holds his Swim Australia qualification and the teacher of babies and toddlers. He also has his Bronze level coaching and is a combat fitness leader for the army. He is a qualified Aqua Aerobic instructor and pool and plant room operator. His passion for coaching children and getting them excited and motivated to try and do their best is second to none. Kids love his classes and training sessions and this is shown throguh the awesome number of attendance he has each week

Started instructing swimming in 1975 and has continuously taught swimming since then. Supervised RLSS summer programs in 1977 and 1978. Set up and operated Belconnen Swim School at Macquarie pool up to 1986 and then at AIS till 1990. Wrote and set up the
Debbie has been involved in the intial development of Austswim and attended the first Austswim Course in the ACT. Featured in the early Austswim advertisements with Suzie Landells. Debbie consulted on the initial development of the Austswim Teacher of Infants Qualifications.
Debbie holds not only swim teacher, babies and preschoolers, competitive strokes and adolescents and adults swim teaching qualifications but also a Bachelor of Education specialising in Early Childhood and Physical Education and a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration.
Coaching experience was there too, with the development of the Belconnen Swim Club and she held a Bronze Coaching Licence and had attended the Silver Qualifications but then decided that the learn to swim was her focus.
Debbie has spent years sharing her skills as a swim teacher presenter for both Austswim and Swim Australia and lectured at the ASCTA Conference.
ACT representative for Austswim Teacher of the Year in 2013 at Queenstown in New Zealand.
Attended World Aquatic Babies Congresses and conferences since 1996 in Melbourne, Mexico, France, Canada and USA.

Rhiannon has been teaching since October 1996 with all ages of learn to swim as well as coaching squad children. Her passion is teaching the pre school age children because of how excited they get for swimming lessons each week.
Rhiannon has been with the Aquatots family for 9 years and loves teaching all ages and abilities how to swim. Her passion out of the water is training all of the Aquatots staff to be the best swim teachers or coaches they can be.
Rhiannon's qualifications include:Swim Australia teachers, Swim Australia babies and toddlers, Swim Australia Competitive strokes, Swim Australia adults swimming, Swim Austalia teaching people with disabilites, ASCTA bronze coaching licence, Certificate 4 in training and assessing, Royal life saving society's bronze medallion examiner.
Aquatots Instructors & Support Team
Ainsley started teaching in October 2018. She really enjoys watching the kids become more confident int he water as they learn new skills. Ainsley and her siblings have all learnt to swim at Aquatots and she feels honoured to now become one of the teaching team and teach valuable life skills to children
Alicia has been teaching since October 2018. Alicia is finishing her college studies and enjoys seeing the kids become comfortable in the water. She feels the best thing about being a swim instructor is watching the children get into the water and master new skills
Alicia started teaching with Aquatots in July 2019 she enjoys teaching because she finds value in not only developing a child's ability to stay safe in the the water but also developing her own skills in working with children. She has never worked with children before and has discovered she really enjoys it.
Alyssa started teaching swimming September 2018. She really loves the kids and teaching them to swim in an environment like Aquatots. The best part about teaching is seeing their faces light up once they have correctly completed a skill, it is a very fulfilling thing to be a part of
Ana has been teaching swimming since June 2012 Ana loves teaching the children technical strokes and helping them put it all together. Winner of Aquatots school age teacher of the year 2016
The best thing about working at Aquatots is being able to work with children, its so rewarding to watch their confidence and water awareness grow as they learn a new skills and abilities.
Arjun started teaching swimming from September 2018. He loves to teach kids how to swim as this is a skill which might end up saving their lives. Additionally, watching the kids learn and have fun at the same time is very fulfilling
Team Leader, Coach
Artur has been teaching since September 2016, and joined the Aquatots team in January 2018. He teaches from babies to squads level. Teaching such an important skill and having the ability to make the difference in their lives, always will be the most rewarding part of this job.
Ashleigh Loves working at Aquatots as she's always been passionate about water safety. She loves taking her love of the water to the younger generation and help them be comfortable in every aquatic environment.
Brooke started teaching in April 2017. She has a very gentle nature with the children and kids and parents really enjoy being in her classes. She loves teaching children a skill that may one day save their life but also loves to be a part of them gaining the actual strokes for technical swimming.
Cameron has been teaching for three months and he loves teaching the children how to develop and learn new skills
Celia has been teaching since 1998, 12 years of which have been with Aquatots. Celia enjoys watching children gain new skills and being pleased with themselves when they achieve this. She also loves knowing that she is teaching them a life saving skill. Winner Aquatots baby teacher of the year 2015
Charlie started teaching in Feb 2019 he teaches pre schoolers to advanced school age children. He started teaching swimming because he thinks it's essential to learn how to swim at a young age and he loves that he is helping children achieve this
Chiara began teaching at Aquatots in April 2019, however started swimming in the program at 12 months of age and went through the program completly all the way to squad level. When it come to her teaching, she enjoying teaching new skills in a fun and positive way and loves to see her swimmers progress throughout the term. She believes swimming is a life saving skill that all children should master.
Chloe started teaching April 2019 and loves working with the children and seeing them have fun in the water and gain confidence
Chris strongly believes that every child needs to know how to swim. She loves working for Aquatots because everyone is passionate and fully committed to delivering the best possible learn to swim experience for families in Canberra.
Clare is a mother of 3 and became a swimming instructor February 2018 and loving it! Being able to teach children such an important skill is amazing, and so rewarding to watch them have fun and progress.
Cody has been teaching since October 2013 and the best thing about teaching for him is seeing their progress and enjoyment, as well as having the privilege of watching all the proud faces on the parents and grandparents as they watch their children learn
Danai has been working at Aquatots once October 2017 and she loves the excitement and smiles on the kids faces when they finally achieve the required skills to move up to the next level. It is extremely rewarding
Danielle started teaching in April 2018 and loves working with young kids n the water teaching them how to swim and survive. She finds it extremely rewarding to see the kids confidence and ability increase while having fun!
Declan has been teaching swimming since September 2018 he is a physical and energetic person and love playing Soccer. He is involved in representative soccer teams and also coaches a junior team in his spare time. Declan is an amazing teacher and loves the fact that he is helping to reduce the children's risk of drowning by teaching them a skill that may one day save their life
Div has been a competitive swimmer for 8 years and he loves being around children. His job at Aquatots provides him the opportunity to help children grow and learn an important life skill. Div loves seeing the children progress with a smile one their and their parents faces. Div gets joy in watching the children get excited every week for their swimming lessons.
Elaine has been working at Aquatots for 5 years and is a massive part of our front desk and behind the scenes team. She absolutely loves the face to face interaction she gets to have with the parents and children involved in the program Winner Aquatots receptionist of the year 2015
Emily loves working at Aquatots because its a wonderful team atmosphere and she really feels like family when she comes to work. Emily finds swim teaching very rewarding and loves seeing the children achieve this skill for life.
Felicity has been teaching since June 2017. She loves teaching advanced pre school children as they are very confident and very cute.
Gabby started working at Aquatots April 2019 and she loves working with children and being able to build trust and relationships with them. She also enjoys teaching them a life skill whilst also having fun at the same time

Grace Loves helping the children develop and grow their swimming skills. She finds the most rewarding part of her job is watching the children achieve confidence in the water. Seeing a Childs excited face when they move up to the next skill level is priceless.

Holly has been teaching since July 2015. She loves being a part of such important stages of children's development in the water building skills and having fun all at the same time.

Iandra has been teaching with Aquatots since October 2017. She loves helping children gain stroke development. it is awesome watching the children start to actually swim with strokes
Imogen has been teaching since April 2018, I love the job, both the teaching and learning aspects. The kids are a pleasure to teach (seeing their smiles is the best) we learn from each other. I love the opportunities and working environment of Aquatots. I'm still in school and enjoy lots of hobbies
Irene has been teaching for 3 years. She love's teaching as she is able to share her love of the water with the children. Being a part of the kid's discovery in the water from floating to gaining the skills of a stroke is her favourite part of teaching. James enjoys working at Aquatots because of the friendly and inclusive environment. He also believes that teaching the children how to swim gives him many skills and values that he can use in everyday life, he sees his employment at Aquatots as a privilege.
Jan started working at Aquatots in November 2016. Although Jan does not teach she is extremely proud of what we do at Aquatots, the family vibe we strive to create at our school. Any time she is able to help customers resolve issues and concerns is a good time for Jan, she loves customer service. She loves seeing all the happy faces of the children and parents that come to Aquatots and being a part of making them happy
Jared started teaching in February 2018. He became a swim teacher because swimming and children are his thing and swimming instructors are amazing people who do amazing things. He also loves AFL and is part of the GWS Giants academy
Jessica started teaching swimming in February 2018 and loves working at aquatots. She enjoys helping children to gain more confidence in the water as well as seeing the excitement on their faces when coming to swimming lessons
Jordi Loves working at Aquatots because swimming has been her life long passion, she really enjoys seeing the children smile when they walk through the doors for their lessons every week. Jordi loves helping everyone achieve things they haven't done before.
Junwei likes working at Aquatots because he enjoys contributing to children's ability to learn a skill for life. He also enjoying the connections you form with them and making them laugh and smile.
Kathia has been teaching since July 2015 and has a daughter of her own. The thing she loves most about teaching is watching the kids fears disappear and turn into trust and excitement especially when you tell them how awesome they did
Kate has been teaching at Aquatots since October 2017. She loves building trust with the kids in her lessons and watching their confidence grow. The best part about working at Aquatots is definitely how proud the kids are when they master a new skill.

Kathryn has been teaching swimming since October 2016. She loves using her enthusiasm to gain the kids trust quickly and seeing them make a quick progression form being scared to mastering their own buoyancy and trusting the water
Kayla started teaching in October 2018. She loves being able to form a bond with the children in her classes and watching them achieve new skills with her help. The constant excitement of the children, their determination and the smiles that are always there make this a great job to have
Kaylee started teaching with Aquatots April 2019 and teaching kids is a passion of hers. She loves to see them have that 'oh i get that now' moment and being a part of that process
Kelsy has been teaching since June 2017 and loves having the children follow her instructions to learn the skills required to make them safer in and around water
Kincaid has been teaching since October 2017. He loves teaching basic strokes to children as they are a bit more confident at this stage and tend to get a lot done in the lesson.
Kreetika has been teaching since May 2016. She loves everything about her introduction into teaching children to swim. She loves the excitement it brings for the children
Lachlan has been teaching swimming since February 2017 and it's the best job I've ever had. Lachlan says 'My favourite part about this job is being there for the moment when something finally clicks for a child and seeing them progress. I'm a student at ANU and I love basketball and the beach'
Lea started teaching with Aquatots in April 2019 and she has always had a passion for learning as well as being around the water. Being able to instruct children with a crucial life skill is not only extremely fulfilling but also so much fun! she loves seeing how happy and confident they grow in their own abilities
Lili started teaching in September 2018 and was a former student at Aquatots. She loves working with the children and swimming has always been a passion of hers. She really enjoys helping the children grow their confidence and the look on their faces once they achieve a new skill
Lisa has been working at Aquatots since term 4, 2016 and having 4 children of her own she knows how valuable teaching children how to swim is. She loves watching the kids try new things and the sense of accomplishment when they master a skill. Lisa also teachers out ladies swimming program which she find extremely rewarding.
Luka has been teaching swimming since 2017 and loves it when the children in her classes gain confidence in the water and then watching them progress into their new levels
Lydia loves seeing her students grow with self confidence in the water and progress with their general skill in the water. Seeing their smiling faces each week as they walk to her classes is the highlight of her day.
Maddi Loves working at Aquatots because its a rewarding and fun job. She enjoys watching the children more confident in the pool and learning new skills.
Maddi loves working at Aquatots because the staff are like a family when they work together as a team. She also thinks it amazing to be able to teach her students a skill for life.
Maddie loves to work with Kids and see them progress and for the future generation to be safe in and around the water.
Maddie started teaching in October 2018. She loves helping children discover new swimming skills and also the fact that the skills they do learn may save their life. Swimming is an important part of Maddie's life and having the opportunity to influence others is amazing
McCawley started swim teaching in September 2018 and has been swimming all her life. She is grateful she is a strong swimmer and wants to pass on her passion for swimming, water and water safety to the children she teaches. She has joined Aquatots mission to reduce the drowning statistics wholeheartedly and loves that she is making a difference
Milla loves working at Aquatots because its such a fun and rewarding job. She loves to watch her swimmers progress and gain new skills every week.
Montana has been teaching swimming since October 2018. She has a huge passion for arts and drawing, plays soccer and also partakes in kickboxing. Montana loves the fact that she can teach the children new skills and have fun while doing so. She has always wanted to make a difference and by teaching children how to swim and survive is doing this
Natasha became a swimming instructor February 2018. Natasha says 'I started with Aquatots after having my children go through their program and just loved the whole family environment that is Aquatots. I love being a swimming instructor, every day is different and not only do I get to have fun with the children every week I am also teaching them a lifesaving skill couldn’t think of a better career'
Nav began working at Aquatots in March 2018 and has been swimming since the age of five. For her, it is important to encourage a child to learn a crucial life skill, that is, swimming. She loves seeing how children develop their confidence in being in the water, which is a hugely rewarding feeling
Nick started teaching July 2018. He is a child inside and loves cartoons like loony tunes and scooby doo. He is a huge lego and pokémon fan which makes kid conversations fun. Even though he is a big kid he is quite mature for his age and is extremely energetic. He teaches swimming to learn more about the water and seeing the kids with their smiles really makes it unlike work and more like fun.
Niharika (Nikki) C
Nikki Loves working at Aquatots because of the supportive and comfortable environment for all children to work on the survival water skills needed to be safe in and around the water. Niki enjoys encouraging the children to gain these skills for life.
Peter finds teaching children to swim is very rewarding. Knowing that they have a life skill to get themselves out of trouble is the most satisfying feeling. He also enjoys helping children improve in all facets of water skills, from pool swimming, surf lifesaving, water polo, board paddling etc. At Aquatots it allows you to teach and grow the children in their water skill set and prepare them for future adventures.
Phoebe has been teaching since July 2015. Preschoolers are Phoebe's favorite age group to teach.She loves seeing the faces on the kids when they learn a new skill and build up their confidence in the water.
Pia has been teaching since January 2012 and loves teaching the babies and pre schoolers. She enjoys watching their confidence grow and helping them learn new skills
Rebecca has been teaching since October 2017. She loves helping the children gain the confidence to roll from their front to their back to gain a breath and the confidence that come with this
Renee Loves working at Aquatots because it provides constant opportunities for children to progress their swimming skills in a rewarding, positive and fun environment.
Sam has been teaching since October 2015. He loves this job as swimming has always been his passion, and being able to share that with so many smiling kids is an amazing feeling!
Sam started teaching in October 2016 and loves teaching children the skills they need to swim and survive. She loves kids and loves water so both things together is a bonus. Shannon has been teaching since 2017 and enjoys getting to know the children in the baby, pre school and special needs classes she teaches. She loves seeing the enjoyment and progression and knowing that she is having an impact on their learning journey.
Skinny Loves to see the look on the children's faces when they have accomplished a new skill which builds their water confidence and safety.
Slade has been teaching since April 2016. He enjoys teaching because he gets to pass on life skills to kids of all ages and have fun with them at the same time.

Stuart has been teaching since October 2013 and loves teaching propulsion to children. Once they gain the trust in the fact they will not sink their progression moves a lot faster and he loves watching this happen and being a part of this
Suvi has been working at Aquatots since February of 2018 and have been swimming with Aquatots since the age of 3. I love working with children consistently through the term and continuing to learn and surprise ourselves every lesson with how much we have learnt and achieved. I enjoy encouraging new swimmers to be comfortable and let water be their friend and continue all the way through to learning and further developing their strokes.
Taila has been a swim teaching since February 2012. She loves watching the children grow not only in swimming but as a person. Being a swim instructor is her passion and she loves seeing how proud children are of themselves when they have achieved new skills. Her speciality is Micro squads and teaching under 7's advanced racing strokes
Taylor has been teaching since October 2017. He loves making a connection with the advanced school age kids and encouraging them to want to perfect their swimming skills
Thomas enjoys working with children so it was an easy decision to start working at Aquatots in 2019. He enjoys teaching all of the skills to different levels that are detrimental to water safety that may one day save a child's life.
Tia enjoys getting being in the water teaching children an important life skill and a fun and welcoming environment. She loves seeing the children progress and swimming being the highlight of their week. She is a very proud Aquatots staff member.
Zac is a year 12 student and started teaching swimming in October 2018. He plays basketball and loves all sports. He wanted to become a swim instructor because he loves working with kids and it sounded like a great opportunity
